Carol Wichern

Angel with heart

Carol, the youngest of six children, learned creativity early on from her mother. She always loved to make things, from furniture and clothes for her little three-inch doll to mud pies. Carol never out grew her love of sewing and “playing in the mud,” and continues to do so today by translating the colors and textures of fabric to clay. She loves experimenting with new techniques and pushing the clay to its limits. Carol starts with twenty-five pounds of clay and stretches, pulls, and compresses the clay to make her POTTERY IN MOTION. Each one-of-a-kind piece flows with movement and excitement.

Basically, a self-taught artist Carol still takes as many workshops as she can fit into her busy schedule. Her work is always changing and evolving into new and different forms. She has work in eight foreign countries and across the United States. She has been

countries and across the United States. She has been commissioned twice to make angels for the Angel Collectors Club of America and donated pieces to the Loveland Kiwanis Club Art Stroll to raise money for charities.

Carol makes each sculpture with love and joy. She hopes her art will bring you the same smiles, fun and happiness with which they are made.
